Celery Pond Back on the Agenda

The City Council met last night and discussed the Celery Pond permit application which was a joint application to the DEQ and the Army Corps of Engineers, originally applied for in 2005.

As you probably know, the DEQ granted approval for the permit but the US Army Corps has not made a decision and is still holding the permit for review.  There has been discussion how to proceed.  The vote was taken to postpone the Council decision to withdraw the city’s name from the application.

The new city manager, Brian Dissette, has been asked to do more fact finding before the Council makes their decision.  To find out more on the Agenda Item, go to the City Council Agenda Item 7 on the city site.

Creative Fountains

Rare is it that I really love routed emails, but I thought the one sent to me today was a perk and inspiration.

Imagine a similar structure in South Haven,  I jokingly wrote to the sender.  Could it be a model for something on Celery Pond or in adjacent parkland?   The sender, a loyal Pond supporter, had the same idea.

I pass it along to you to enjoy.  Just Google:

It would be a different kind of water park installation.  Let’s keep that in our notes for the future and the changes ahead.
