Notice of Public Gatherings
This is a reminder of two important upcoming public gatherings which will be hosted by the Celery Pond Advocates re: the public land holdings in and around Dunkley Avenue. All members and concerned citizens are welcome to come to both events.
September 11th, 2006 (Monday) 6pm at the South Haven Public Library. This will be a review of CPA organizational plans. We will also be discussing the upcoming Second Community Walk.
September 17th, 2006 (Sunday afternoon) at 4pm, The Second Community Walk will gather at the Black River Park/Public Boat Launch on Dunkley Avenue. The whole community is invited. Bring your family and friends and we’ll walk around the land that you own. We’ll talk about the potential sale of your waterfront property on Black River, in accord with the recent Council approval of a design plan which would use this area for commercial and residential development. We’ll look at how we can stop the sale of our public lands. Noting the Parks Commission slogan, we will seek to “Keep the public lands in public hands.”
